Some people like their whiskey neat; I prefer it on the rocks. How do I like my wine you ask? Well, I like it delivered to my doorstep.

In a thorough investigation of God’s gifts to earth, I’ve come up with the following: first, there was the Garden of Eden, then Adam and Eve, a few more things in between, sliced bread, Oprah–and then box subscriptions.

First of all, for those of you who are late to the party, a box subscription is a recurring delivery of niche products. These products range anywhere from food and beverages, to clothing, beauty products, pet supplies, books, gardening tools, and even sex toys–you name it, they probably have it. There is literally a box for everyone and everything. I even searched “slime” on cratejoy.com (an excellent reference to explore the hundreds of box subscriptions) and there’s a monthly subscription for the “slime lovers” (I didn’t even know that was a thing).

But let’s really talk about it. Investing in box subscriptions is like buying back time in your day. Who wouldn’t want that 25th hour? They provide the luxury of getting your must-have items, specifically catered to your taste, delivered right to your doorstep. Think about how much more time that would give you. Look at Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg. The billionaire wears the same grey shirt almost everyday in the name of making as few decisions as possible and staying focused on how to best serve the Facebook community. If wearing the same outfit everyday will help me become a billionaire, where do I sign up? Jokes aside, he has a valid point. Why waste energy on making decisions that could be made for you and yield the same amount of satisfaction? That’s basically the beauty of box subscriptions.

Here are few of the most popular box subscriptions:
